Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | The Appointments Committee of Parliament has reportedly queried the academic papers of three Ministerial appointees and asked them to put their papers in order.
The three are part of close to 20 ministerial nominees vetted between Monday and Tuesday.
Isaiah Sasaga, the Budadiri East MP, a member of the committee, says that some of the appointees had missing documents.
He says that others had varying names on their Ordinary and Advanced level certificates.
One of the appointees who was turned away because of inconsistence in their names is Babirye Milly Babalanda whose name appeared as Mariam Doka Babalanda on the cabinet list.
The committee directed her to prove her certificates from the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB), which she did on Tuesday.
The examination body clarified that Babirye Milly Babalanda indeed attained the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) award in 2017 from Makerere Day and Adult evening school.
The Principal Private Secretary to the President, Kenneth Omona also wrote to the Clerk to Parliament clarifying that the appointee was actually Babirye Milly Babalanda and not Mariam Doka Babalanda as earlier mention on the cabinet list.
