Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Club Pilsner has launched a 3-month promotion to benefit its customers dubbed, Club Beat Coin, a digital currency that customers are now using to purchase the beer brand.
Company executives say, the Beat Coin found under 500ml Club Pilsner bottle crowns is limited to Shs300 which customers can use as a discount on their next beer purchase or redeem it in actual cash.
David Valencia, the Nile Breweries Limited Managing Director, who are behind the campaign promotion said, “Club is all about being an enabler for people to be the best version of themselves without any hindrances.”
Valencia added, “we need to evolve and that is why we have come up with Beat Coin for Club Pilsner.”
Beat Coin is going to be the currency on the beer market in Uganda for the duration of the campaign. Distributors, stockists, and sellers all stand a chance to gain, according to Valencia.
A total of 55 distributors, 500 resellers and 1,100 retail outlets across the country are supporting the promotion.
Valencia said, the world is turning digital especially when it comes to modes of payments, and that taking center stage, are cryptocurrencies, digital assets designed to work as a medium of exchange.
Markets are being shaken by coins like Dogecoin and Litecoin, says Valencia, adding, as Club, we need to join the queue.
This is a disruptive promotion which steers away from the monotonous ‘scratch and win’ or ‘check under the crown’ approach.
