FIBAKigali, Rwanda | THE INDEPENDENT | Commander of the UPDF land forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has rescued the cash-strapped Uganda national basketball team The Silverbacks that nearly got stranded in Kigali.
The basketball federation announced the Gen Muhoozi had personally given them sh 188million they needed to settle hotel bills. “We thank you for loving and supporting Basketball. They future of the game is certainly bright,” FUBA said.
Uganda reached the quarter-finals of the AfroBasket 2021 tournament in Rwanda, where they were beaten yesterday by Cape Verde. To reach this stage, Uganda had upset Nigeria.
