Nairobi, Kenya | THE STAR KENYA | Lawyer Willis Otieno on Friday used the storyline behind the movies entitled ‘The Italian Job and The Wolf Of Wall Street’ to make his argument in court.
In a no-sweaty affair as previously witnessed in court, Otieno narrated how IEBC tried to confuse Kenyans by using extra ballot papers in polling stations.
“He decided to print genuine forms in excess in all the 46,000 polling stations. They were not needed. When the parties raised it, he sent the forms to the stations,” he said.

“You had parallel forms from Book One of One and the Book Two of Two. 50 per cent of Book Two of Two was used.”
Book Two of Two is a duplicate of Form 34A.
Otieno said the reports of the scrutiny have confirmed his fears that the book two which was not supposed to be used was used.
He gave an example of two movies that he watched.
“In The Italian Job movie, the gentlemen steal and come with many lorries and you can’t tell which one has the actual cash. Their similar plates, design and make are meant to confuse you,” he said.
He said this was how Book Two of Two confused Kenyans during the election process.
“If you have watched The Wolf of Wall Street, when the star player at the point of blowing it up throws the money at everybody and no one can tell what actually transpired that is what happened with Book Two of Two in our elections,” he said.
“When you start tracing, you will only meet genuine forms. In 2017 when we questioned, we met fake forms (but) this time, he threw an extra 46,000 genuine forms in the hands of POs who can’t account for them.”
Otieno said part of the function of the Supreme Court is to give regime legitimacy.
“No one spoke about the margin of the victory. It was less than 200,000. Are we going to give regime legitimacy after this scrutiny report?” He posed.
“Are we going to say that let us ignore them? Please don’t ignore the registrar’s report. At the end of this process, the only person who would know where the ponk was going to land is Chebukati himself.”
