Tasks and responsibilities:
• Set up the Garmin devices for each study participants.
• Upload data and reset device after each cohort of participants.
• Train study participants on how to wear Garmin devices and fill out daily diary surveys.
• Adhere to ethical approvals/human subject protocols and consent forms.
• Maintain quality standards to preserve the integrity of data collection.
• Assist with data entry and quality checks as needed.
• Facilitate communications with the PI, Investigators and research team.
• Find solutions to technical issues.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Kinesiology, Psychology, Computer Science, Statistics/Data Science, or other related disciplines.
• Experience with collecting data via wearable technology in a research setting preferred. Training will be provided.
• Need to be extremely detail oriented and organized.
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows operating system/use of computers.
• Proficiency in both English and Luganda.
• Proven work experience as a Research Assistant or similar role.
• Demonstrated experience in human subject’s research in a laboratory setting preferred.
• Excellent organizational, critical thinking, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail to ensure their research documents are accurate at all times.
• Priority-Minded – Can identify and execute on the most important issues.
• Sense of Urgency – Know when to act quickly to proactively solve problems.
