POSITION OVERVIEW:
To implement the M&E activities of the hospital specifically, the M&E requirements of the USAID ASHA grant at CURE Uganda and support the hospital’s research initiatives by collecting relevant data.
Responsibilities
Oversee M&E Requirements
1. Effectively oversee the M&E requirements of the USAID ASHA grant, including surveys and focus groups Develop procedures that outline the data collector role.
2. Develop and strengthen monitoring, inspection, and evaluation procedures
Data management function
1. Collect and input M&E data for patients in accordance with established procedures, for ongoing baseline reporting.
2. Ensure data cleanliness and integrity.
3. Support the clinical team in the quality improvement, audit and research projects that will further inform the clinical service, including patient recruitment, data collection and logistical support.
Communication function
1. Generate monthly narrative report of activities and as needed per leadership’s requests and DC capacity.
2. Produce monthly narrative report to describe M&E activities.
Training function
1. Assist hospital personnel with M&E tools and support them in their use, training and retraining as necessary.
2. Personal Improvement initiatives to further the understanding of the DC role.
Occupational Health and Safety observed.
1. To work in such a way that does not cause injury to yourself, other co-workers or patients.
2. Following & complying with H&S policies, processes & applying them to your own work activities, including using/wearing Personal Protective Equipment as required.
Participating in activities directed at preventing harm & promoting well-being in the workplace Identifying, reporting & self-managing hazards where appropriate.
4. Early and accurate reporting of incidents at work and raising issues of concern when identified.
Spiritual Ministry
Participates in the hospital’s Spiritual Ministry Programs.
Other duties
Other official related duties that may be assigned by Supervisor.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
1. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics, Math’s.
2. Strong training and facilitation skills
3. Experience in the implementation of M&E in development projects implemented by national/international NGOs/Government; desirable.
4. Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production of reports; desirable.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1. Fluency in written and spoken English and local languages.
2. Excellent organizational /administrative skills and ability to effectively plan in evolving situations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
4. Strong computer proficiency using software applications such as Microsoft Office & Google Drive
