IT Lab Intern at Uganda Christian University

To take proper care and stewardship of designated IT Computer lab facilities with little supervision, especially at locations that are distant from the central UIS location. The IT Interns are responsible for providing support to students and other users of the designated IT Computer labs. The role of IT interns is essential for the provision of IT user support to especially students and preventing theft or misuse, better availability, security, reliable operation and optimal use of Computer lab facilities.

Qualifications

1. Should have a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Information Technology from Uganda Christian University.
2. Should have graduated been 2020 and 2022
3. Should have experience working in a reputable organization.
4. Should be a quick learner and acquire knowledge on computer software used for teaching, learning e.g., accounting software, video editing software etc.
Should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Should be able to work beyond conventional working hours and on weekends.
7. Should be a committed Christian of high integrity.

Main duties and Responsibilities:
1. To provide operational and technical support for IT Computer Lab facilities.
2. Under the supervision of the Senior Network and Senior System Administrators, install equipment & software required in the IT Computer labs.
3. To arrange for the required servicing and repair of IT Computer Lab equipment.
4. To perform routine audits of systems and software.
To answer user queries relating to use of the IT Computer Lab.
6. To document the configuration of Computer lab equipment and any changes.
7. To ensure optimum operation of the Computer Lab facilities.
8. To ensure the efficient flow of information between the Computer Lab owner department and UIS technical team leaders.
9. To carry out any other work as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
