Gender, Youth, and Social Inclusion Consultant at FHI 360

FHI 360 seeks a Gender, Youth, and Social Inclusion (GYSI) consultant to provide technical assistance for the application of a GYSI lens to further identify and address barriers to and gaps in optimal delivery and uptake of MCH, Nutrition and PPFP services across the five Divisions of Kampala.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership and technical support for the integration of for the integration of Gender, Adolescent, Youth, and marginalized groups’ interests and concerns across the MCHN and PPFP programming and service delivery in Kampala.
• In collaboration with USAID Social Behavioural Change
• Activity, oversee the application of the IDARE (Identify, Design, Apply/Assess, Record, Expand) community CQI methodology to improve demand and provision of gender responsive MCHN and PPFP services in Kampala.
• Work closely with Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) to improve GBV prevention and response services and develop technical and operation strategies for GYSI for sustainability.
• Build the capacity of MCHN subgrantee Civil Society Organizations on planning and implementing community initiatives for improved GBV screening, documentation, use of referral pathways, and GBV prevention and favourable social norms.
• Document and disseminate knowledge management products including lessons learnt and best practices for the integration of GYSI in MCHN service delivery in an urban setting.
• Prepare periodic technical reports for both internal and external clients.
• Co-create and prepare periodic GYSI workplans and routinely implementation progress trackers.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Gender and/or Women’s Studies or relevant field.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in fostering the integration of Gender, Youth, and social inclusion in health programs, preferably MCHN.
• Strong technical skills in monitoring and evaluation of GBV program implementation.
• Demonstrated skills in collaborative engagement, program planning, use of CQI to improve systems and processes, and knowledge management.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish effective working relations with different stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently in a complex environment, and manage high-volume, fast-paced workflow.
• Previous experience in a USAID-funded program is an added advantage.
