Job Description Coca-Cola Beverages Africa /CCBA is the largest African Coca-Cola bottler, accounting for 40% of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent. Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda /CCBU is a subsidiary of CCBA, and we are currently seeking to recruit a Tax Manager.
As a Tax Manager, you will report directly to the Finance Director.
KEY PURPOSE STATEMENT
The role will provide specialist advice and direction through a thorough risk assessment of CCBU tax positions and the development of optimal strategy and communication of key issues to key stakeholders. Determination and implementation of optimal tax structures across the organization.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Thorough risk assessment of CCBU and its subsidiary’s tax position and development of optimal strategy and communication of key issues to key stakeholders.
• Leadership and management of key relationships with URA, external advisors, and senior management.
• Determination and implementation of optimal tax structures across the organization.
• Ensure accurate and timely computation, payment, and accounting for various taxes (VAT, PAYE, Excise, WHT, Customs Duties, etc.)
• Resolution of all Group tax matters arising from the normal course of business
• Manage all tax risks and provide guidance to the business and Group.
• Hands-on leadership by example, especially on technical tax and payroll issues.
• Provision of leadership to subordinates and other areas of the business.
• Take the lead on all the tax and regulatory-related audits (URA, Internal and External).
• Maintain leadership in the manufacturing industry by influencing state/local legislations & policies, and participating in local-level industry think-tanks.
• Conduct regular training on matters of tax within the various teams in the organizations.
• Perform any other duties as may require by the business from time to time.
Skills, Experience & Education
Qualifications
• Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, or Law; Chartered
Accountant (CPA, ACCA, CIMA); Postgraduate Diploma in Tax Revenue Administration (PODITRA) or Advanced Diploma in Taxation (ADIT)
• Added advantage: Master’s Business Administration, Management.
Experience
• Minimum requirement: Minimum 7 years of work experience in tax administration
• Management track record of 3 years or more; with at least 3 years in relevant sector/ industry
• Tax experience in FMCG or a “Big 4” Audit firm
